The trail is currently being expanded and will one day run 280 miles from the Idaho border to Nephi, Utah and beyond. West Valley City is located to the west, but the original boundary of South Salt Lake was south of the Utah-Utah border, north of Utah State Park.

Utah Olympic venues are located on the west and east sides of the valley, just a short drive from downtown. If you own an ATV side-by-side and want to shake off the winter blues by riding the scenic trails in South Salt Lake City's Hebertal Valley, you can do so. While Park City and Hebers Valley are very picturesque and exciting during the season, the route to Salt Lake City runs through both.
